Excitement and Release: Spring Essential Oils

IMG_0408The scent, the feel and the sights. Spring. Way cool. An exciting time and a sense of new growth. A feeling of potential. The possibilities. It’s happening. With this comes the shedding. The letting go. Reevaluation. What stays. What goes. What belongs.

From a body-skin perspective we’re talking about excess weight. Congested tissue. And toxic build-up. The essential oil detox and cleanse solutions.

Think movement. Citrus and oxides. Lemon, orange (sweet or bitter), grapefruit. Eucalyptus (radiata, globules, smithii), MQV, tea tree, rosemary cineole type.

photo 1A spring cleanse. Release. The recommendation is to go to a health practitioner versed in herbal and dietary cleansing. The essential oils are used as an adjunct and everyday support.

Lemon is the choice to support phase 1 and phase 2 liver detoxification. A half to a whole squeezed lemon daily is suggested. The essential oil is an ideal replacement – one or 2 drops in a glass of water twice daily.

Shower with essential oils. Two drops of MQV. Powerful. This oil from Madagascar supports immune function and helps elimination of impurities from the body. Rub a couple of drops over the body after cleansing in the shower – check for sensitivity by applying behind the knees in your first MQV shower. Bay laurel is a well known oil for lymphatic support. Apply a couple of drops in the shower. Do not use bay laurel more than 4 – 6 days in a row. Can be sensitizing.

In the morning and evening use a good massage blend that contains a synergy of “movement.” A blend of detoxifying essential oils provide internal conditioning by supporting the body’s natural eliminatory processes. The added benefit to daily massage comes from using a good organic vegetable oil base that conditions and protects the skin.hedges cellar
